The Aburihene, who is also the Adontenhene of the Akuapem Traditional Area, Otoobuor Djan Kwasi, has called on the media to lead the reset agenda of the government to help promote the development of the country.
Speaking in an interview on the sidelines of President John Dramani Mahama’s ‘Thank You Tour’ in the Eastern Region, he discouraged the media from using their platforms for insults as such behaviors will not help bring progress and development to the country, urging Ghanaians to give the President their unflinching support to enable him to sustain the good policies he is implementing in the country.
Otoobuor Djan Kwasi explained that, so far, the reset agenda of President Mahama’s government is on course and urged Ghanaians to criticize the government constructively.
He also called on the media to lead the reset agenda and discourage insults, which have eaten deep into the fabric of the daily discourse on the various media platforms.
Otoobuor Djan Kwasi, however, urged Ghanaians to offer the President their full support for him to be able to deliver on his mandate since the insult will not bring anything better to the country.
Some residents in the region also sharing their views on President John Mahama’s performance in government for the past seven months in office noted that President Mahama has performed better and commended him for fulfilling most of his campaign promises.
These include the reduction of the exchange rate, the reduction of fuel prices, the implementation of the No Fees Stress Policy, and the payment of the six months nursing and teaching training allowances.
The ‘Thank You Tour’ of President John Dranmani Mahama in the Eastern Region brought together traditional leaders from all eleven paramountcies, NDC party executives and sympathizers, and some residents in the region.
