Nigerian music star Davido has revealed that his newborn twin son bears an uncanny resemblance to his late son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, describing it as “scary.”
In an interview with Apple Music 1 host Ebro Darden, the singer reflected on the tragic loss of Ifeanyi, who died in October 2022 at the age of three after drowning at Davido’s Lagos home.
The Afrobeats singer and his wife, Chioma, welcomed twins, a boy and a girl, in the United States a year later.
Speaking on the emotional journey from grief to healing, Davido said the birth of the twins was a sign of divine intervention.
“That type of loss made me be like, ‘I’m out’,” he said. “I just wanted to focus on my wife and family, and get my head right.”
Davido said the resemblance between his late son and the twin boy was so striking that it felt as though Ifeanyi had returned.
“We’re like, ‘No, it’s him. He came back.”
