GBCNEWS Security Service Correspondent, Juliet Mettle-Edmonds, has been nominated for the National Safety Awards 2025, in recognition of her outstanding reporting on fire safety.
Her in-depth coverage and commitment to public awareness have distinguished her among Ghana’s safety communicators. Juliet is among the over thirty nominees for this award.

The National Safety Awards 2025 is an initiative dedicated to recognizing individuals, organizations, and institutions that champion safety as a way of life. This year’s event highlights how Ghanaians perceive and practice safety, not just at the workplace but in our homes, schools, roads, hospitals, and public spaces.
Juliet Mettle-Edmonds has been reporting on security and safety, and her recent documentary on the ‘Untold Struggles for Firefighting, and ‘Who Rescues the Rescuer’, underscores the risk firefighters face in their line of duty, and highlights the injuries they sustain and limited attention given to their welfare.
This has been recognized.

Institutions and individuals to be honoured include Banking and Financial Services, Insurance and Mining, Healthcare and Education, Telecommunications and Technology, Manufacturing and Consumer Goods, Government and Energy, as well as Construction and Real Estate.
