The Ghana Football Association (GFA) officially launched the first-ever MTN Elite U19 Championship on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, marking a significant step in youth football development in Ghana.

The launch ceremony was held at the GFA headquarters in Accra and attracted key football authorities, regional representatives, and technical experts.
This pioneering youth tournament aims to identify and nurture the next generation of Ghanaian football stars, providing a competitive platform for under-19 talents to showcase their skills.
It is designed to strengthen grassroots football and build a solid pipeline for professional and national team players. The MTN Elite U19 Championship is scheduled to take place from October 23 to November 2, 2025.

The competition will be hosted at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, a state-of-the-art facility that will offer young players access to excellent training and match conditions.
Officials at the launch emphasised the importance of structured youth tournaments in raising the overall standard of football in Ghana.

They expressed confidence that the championship will serve as a vital tool in producing well-prepared players capable of competing at higher levels.
With the MTN Elite U19 Championship kicking off soon, Ghanaian football stakeholders are optimistic about the impact this new initiative will have on the future of the sport.
