The Country Managing Director (Ghana Office) of Skyfox Ltd Ghana, Mumuni Samyuri has hinted that 153,000 people will this year benefit from the Integrated Aquaculture and Crop production project which was launched last year, with a target of 500 permanent jobs being created out of it.

“ Last year over 40,000 people benefited from  the  project in the country. For this year alone, the target is to get 153,000 people benefiting from this project with 500 permanent jobs being created out of it.” He said.

The project which is in line with Government’s “one district, one factory”, Planting for food and jobs and the ‘youth in Agriculture’ policies, is to empower women and the youth in the Agriculture sector.

Mumuni Samyuri; Country Manager ( Ghana Office) Skyfox Ltd Ghana.

Speaking on Uniiq FM Breakfast Drive Mr. Mumuni Samyuri explained that, the Integrated Aquaculture and crop production projecting project initiated by Skyfox Ltd Ghana with the U.S Aid, is to integrate Acquaculture with crop production to ensure that the country get good fish and crops by draining water from ponds and irrigate them onto crops.

According to him, the main targets of the project are people who have been engaged in farming for many years but are still in abject poverty.  Therefore, the project is to elevate poverty around such persons by putting them into group to come together and acquire a fish pond.

“The key thing about the innovation is the fact that we are looking at the people at the bottom of the pyramid. People who have engaged in farming for so many years and are still in abject poverty and probably see of we can elevate poverty around these people. If we look at the Damba area, they do quite a lot of farming but go back there and see.  The poverty level in that area is so huge. People are still crying on daily bases. So, we are targeting such areas.” He noted.
