The 2025/2026 National Service Year is officially set to begin on Monday, November 3, 2025, following the nationwide reopening of the National Service Authority’s (NSA) new digital registration platform.
Service personnel are expected to report to their respective postings on Saturday, November 1, 2025, two days before the official start date. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in Ghana’s national service scheme, as the NSA rolls out major reforms to modernize registration, deployment, and institutional supervision.
According to the Director-General of the NSA, Ruth Dela Seddoh, this year’s intake will operate fully under a new digital management system designed to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability.
“The 2025/2026 service year represents a total digital reset for the scheme,” Madam Seddoh said. “All prospective personnel must register afresh on the new platform to ensure accurate data and smooth coordination with institutions receiving them.”
Institutions across the country from ministries and schools to hospitals and private firms, have been directed to reconfirm or reapply for personnel under the new digital framework. The system introduces features that allow user institutions to approve postings, track attendance, and verify personnel digitally, eliminating paperwork and delays.
“This ensures that by November 3, when the service year begins, every institution will have access to verified and qualified personnel,” Madam Seddoh explained.
To prevent payroll fraud and delays, the NSA has partnered with the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department to implement strict financial controls and real-time payment verification.
Periodic efficiency checks will be conducted throughout the year to ensure personnel receive their allowances promptly and institutions accurately validate their attendance.
The 2025/2026 service year will also introduce new deployment pathways under the Youth in Agriculture, Community Improvement Programmes, and Private Sector Partnerships initiatives , providing graduates with opportunities beyond traditional public sector postings.
“This is more than just another service year,” Madam Seddoh added. “It’s about building a stronger, more accountable system that creates real opportunities for both the personnel and the institutions they serve.”
