The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has reiterated government’s commitment to the 24-Hour Economy policy, describing it as a bold agenda for sustainable job creation and national economic transformation.

Mr. Debrah, who represented President John Dramani Mahama, participated in the Bank of Ghana’s Strategic Integration Workshop on the 24-Hour Economy in Accra.

He praised the central bank and other stakeholders for their collaboration, noting that the policy is not just a government initiative but a national economic reset.

“The 24-Hour Economy is a driver of innovation, sustainable jobs, and economic transformation. It is key to resetting Ghana’s economic journey,” Mr. Debrah emphasised.

The workshop, which brought together policymakers, economists, private sector leaders, and labour groups, focused on integrating financial systems and monetary policies to support round-the-clock economic activity.

The policy is designed to expand employment opportunities across industries by maximizing production and services beyond the traditional workday, stimulate private sector growth through innovation and new market access, and enhance Ghana’s competitiveness in the global economy.

The Chief of Staff underscored that the Mahama administration views the 24-Hour Economy not as an abstract concept but as a practical, inclusive strategy to modernize Ghana’s economy while addressing unemployment and productivity challenges.

He urged all stakeholders to “work in unison” to ensure successful implementation.
