The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah, has been removed from his position.
The government is expected to name a new CEO by next week.
The decision followed a meeting between the Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, and Prof Addai-Mensah. The minister thanked him for his service and dedication to improving the hospital.
Prof Addai-Mensah, who assumed the role in 2022, led several major initiatives.
One of the most notable was the “Heal Komfo Anokye Project,” aimed at modernizing the hospital. Under his leadership, the number of dialysis machines increased from two to more than twenty, and a new pharmaceutical block was constructed.
