The Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Catholic Church, Bishop Joseph Afrifah Agyekum, has urged Christians to integrate the Word of God into their culture and daily religious practice, stressing that faith must be lived and not merely professed.

Speaking at the 50th anniversary thanksgiving Mass of the Akan Kuo at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Madina, Bishop Agyekum described the Akan Kuo as a vital platform for preserving cultural identity while deepening Christian faith.

Bishop Afrifah Agyekum reminded members that good intentions should guide their actions, urging them not to let challenges or obstacles undermine their commitment. He emphasized that despite the difficulties, staying true to the society’s mission and values remains essential for continued success.

“It is a society to help you to know yourself, a bit of your culture and where you come from. And at the same time, to enable you to be able to incarnate the word of God into your culture and in the practice of your faith,” he stated.

The National Spiritual Director and Advisor of the Holy Family Akan Kuo at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Rev. Father Benjamin Ohene, urged Christians to live in love and unity, reflecting the core values of the Christian faith in their daily lives.

“Let’s live in love, harmony and peace. May God bless all families and bless our nation Ghana as a family,” he noted.

Commissioner of Police (COP) Mrs. Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah urged Ghanaians in both public and private sectors to actively contribute to national development. She emphasized that building a better Ghana requires a collective effort, with every individual playing a crucial role in advancing the country’s progress.

“We all have a role to play. If you do your work, if I do my work, if we all do what is expected of us, together we will build Ghana,” she emphasized.

The Holy Family Akan Kuo was established in 1975, under the auspices of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Madina. The celebration featured a parade and an awards ceremony honoring the founders, long-serving members of the Akan Kuo, and dedicated youth members for their outstanding service.
