On the evening of Friday, 27th June 2025, members of the AMOSA 2001 Year Group, alumni, and distinguished guests gathered at Erata Hotel in East Legon to officially launch the group’s 25th Anniversary Celebration and its transformative Legacy Project — the resourcing of a state-of-the-art ICT Lab and Resource Centre for Aggrey Memorial A.M.E Zion Senior High School.
The event was chaired by Ing. Mrs. Rita Ohene Sarfoh, Director of Engineering at the Ministry of Roads and Highways, who played the dual role of moderator and mother of the occasion. She was ably supported by Mrs. Vivian Fiscian, a respected development and child expert, who brought a compelling touch of social advocacy and insight to the evening.
Also present were the Headmistress of Aggrey Memorial A.M.E Zion Senior High School, and the President of AMOSA Global, Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah whose presence underscored the unity and shared commitment to the school’s advancement.
In his welcome address, Mr. Joseph Baffoe, President of the AMOSA 2001 Year Group, extended warm appreciation to all present. He passionately outlined the urgent need to support the school, noting the high student population and the insufficient ICT infrastructure. He emphasized that the Legacy Project, aimed at delivering a modern ICT centre equipped with adequate computers, high-speed internet, a server, projector, and full civil works, was a timely response to the evolving educational needs of students. The ICT project is estimated at GHc954,000.
In her response, Ing. Mrs. Ohene Sarfoh expressed her delight at being part of the initiative and pledged her unwavering support until the project is completed. She lauded the year group for their foresight and unity. Mrs. Vivian Fiscian, on her part, emphasized the importance of rebranding the school and positioning it to better serve future generations.
The fundraising segment of the event was led by Mr. Yoofi Brew, an accomplished media and creative professional, whose energy and charm moved many to contribute generously toward the cause. Several guests made immediate donations and pledges, marking a strong start to the group’s fundraising efforts.
The night ended on a high note with balloons released symbolizing the dawn of a new era of impact, legacy, and renewed purpose for AMOSA 2001.
As the year group looks ahead to the successful execution of the Legacy Project, the energy and commitment witnessed on the launch night served as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when old students come together for a worthy cause.
