A middle-aged man was murdered in broad daylight at Asawase, in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred on Friday, July 26, 2025.
Eyewitnesses allege that the man was shot multiple times by unknown assailants on a motorbike.
The incident has left residents in fear and raised concerns over rising violent crimes in the area.
According to eyewitnesses, the victim was walking to his car when two men on a motorbike approached and opened fire, hitting him several times before speeding off.
Police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and cordoned off the area for investigations.
The victim, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, is believed to have died instantly.
The nature of the attack has left residents shaken, with many calling for increased police presence in the area.
A similar motorbike-related shooting occurred on Tuesday evening, leading to the death of a respected traditional leader. Community leaders are urging authorities to take swift action to curb the surge in criminal activities.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has confirmed the incident and assured the public that investigations are underway.
Authorities have also announced plans to intensify patrols in crime-prone areas to prevent further incidents.
As the community mourns, demands for justice are growing. This latest killing has once again highlighted the urgent need for stronger measures to combat violent crime in Kumasi and across Ghana.
