Government has presented to the people of Appiatse, a draft copy of the local plan for the reconstruction of the Appiatse Community. The draft plan is to solicit the input of the people before the actual reconstruction begins.
As a temporary measure against the onset of the rains, the government through the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has gone into agreement with FGR, a mining company at Dumasi to let out a resettlement community to accommodate the residents until the reconstruction is completed.
The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources Samuel Abu Jinapor who inspected the temporary resettlement site said the government is committed to making life better for the people.
The temporary resettlement of 76 Units can accommodate all the 800 displaced residents of the Appiatse Community. Mr. Jinapor said the work on the resettlement Community will begin within a matter of weeks.
