Five people are feared dead following a collision between a passenger vehicle and a tipper truck at Asikuma Junction in the Asuogyaman District of Ghana’s Eastern Region.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said its Peki Fire Station received a distress call and quickly dispatched a rescue team, led by AstnO Fred Aganu and Acting District Fire Officer ADO I Godwin Gbedemah, to the scene.
The crash involved a grey Toyota Noah with registration number GX 422-25 and a tipper truck registered GT 725-19.
According to the GNFS, four people, including a child, were rescued and taken to the Peki Government Hospital by the National Ambulance Service.
However, five others were found unresponsive and handed over to the police.
The cause of the crash has not yet been established.
