Drive with care! Police cautions following collision on Accra Kumasi Highway

The Police are warning motorists to drive with care following an accident on the Accra-Kumasi Highway. The fatal accident happened at the Akim Aboabo between the Akim Asafo and Nsutam area of the stretch, leading to a complete closure of the road. The crash involved a Nissan Pickup and a Loaded DAF articulated truck. The wreckage in the middle of the road has forced personnel from the Kibi MTTD Accident Prevention Squad to cordon off the area.

According to the Police, emergency crews including Ghana National Fire Service Extrication Team, National Ambulance Service and Road Safety Management Service Limited are proceeding to the site to assist the victims. Drivers who ply the route have been redirected to alternative roads on the advice of the MMTD. For now, “motorists approaching from Suhum are diverted through Kibi, at Apedwa Junction”.
