The Accra High Court has directed the Electoral Commission (EC) to re-collate results from six constituencies in compliance with the law and subsequently declare the winners.

The affected constituencies include Tema Central, Nsawam Adoagyiri, Ablekuma North, Ahafo Ano North, Techiman South, and Okaikwei Central.

Justice Rev. Fr. Joseph Adu Owusu Agyemang issued the order after granting separate mandamus applications filed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidates in the respective constituencies.

A mandamus order compels a public institution to fulfill its lawful obligations.

The court’s decision was based on the EC’s own admission that the previous collation in these constituencies was conducted under duress and did not adhere to electoral regulations.
