The African Digital Creator Academy (ADCA) has celebrated the graduation of its first cohort of students on July 5, 2025, at Jambo Spaces—marking a major milestone in empowering young African storytellers in the digital space.
The African Digital Creator Academy, founded by Jambo Spaces with support from the French Embassy, is the first of its kind in Ghana. It was set up to help young African digital creators turn their passion into a successful career by teaching them how to thrive in today’s fast-growing content economy.
Co-founder of Jambo Spaces, Bernard Sokpe, emphasized that the Academy was established to empower African creators with the skills and knowledge needed to compete globally. He highlighted the continent’s limited contribution to the global digital creation market, stressing the urgency for change.
“The global digital creation market today is worth over $30 billion. Africa only contributes 2% of that global value, which is very unfortunate. That’s why ADCA is here — to equip African creators with the tools and knowledge to help bridge that gap.”
The Academy ran an 8-week intensive training program, which covered important areas such as storytelling and pitching, brand building, content monetization, copyright and law basics, and photography and videography.
The first group included 14 talented young creators from different parts of Ghana. In addition to classroom learning, students got hands-on experience through internships with top marketing and media firms in Ghana. Some were even given the chance to attend the famous Cannes Lions Festival in France.
One of the graduating students expressed her excitement after successfully completing the training, describing the experience as deeply impactful.
“It’s been very insightful. I find all our four tutors very knowledgeable in the fields they find themselves in.”
The graduation ceremony was a joyful moment that highlighted the creativity and determination of young African content creators. With plans to train over 100,000 creators by 2026, and a new AI-powered learning system on the way, Jambo Spaces is set to make a lasting impact on Africa’s digital future.
