Ghanaian graduates have been left in limbo as uncertainty continues to surround the 2025/2026 National Service registration process. Many young people say they are unable to check their PIN codes or begin the required online registration, weeks after the National Service Authority (NSA) suspended enrolment activities.
The NSA had initially opened the portal on June 17, 2025, releasing PIN codes for over 132,000 prospective service personnel, with a deadline set for July 1. But just four days later, on June 21, the NSA Board suspended the process indefinitely, citing directives from the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment. The move was linked to concerns over system irregularities and public trust.
Since then, no official date has been announced for the reopening of the portal — a development that has sparked growing frustration among graduates.
“We can’t even check our PIN codes, let alone register. The silence is worrying because national service is mandatory, and any delay affects our plans,” a concerned graduate told GBC NEWS reporters.
Social media has also been flooded with questions from anxious youth, many calling on government to clarify when registration will resume.
A post on the NSA’s official Facebook page also addressed the issue, urging the Authority to provide information on when the portal is expected to open. One concerned user wrote: “Dear National Service Authority Team, I’m writing to inquire about the status of the portal opening for the upcoming national service year. Could you kindly provide information on when the portal is expected to open and any necessary steps I need to take to prepare for registration?”
The uncertainty has raised fears that the delays could disrupt postings and affect the start of the 2025/2026 service year.
Observers say the situation is putting pressure on the NSA to provide clear communication and timelines, as the annual national service exercise is not only a legal requirement but also a major pathway to employment for thousands of Ghanaian graduates.
For now, graduates are being urged to monitor the official NSA website and social media channels for updates.
