The main rituals are scheduled to begin on Sunday, September 14, and continue through to Thursday, September 18. The final burial rites will be performed on the night of the 18th, during which residents are expected to remain indoors.

Additionally, all shops and markets within the metropolis (Asanteman) and parts of the region will be closed on the day of the final ritual rites.

This announcement was made during the one-week observance of the late Queen Mother, who passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 98.

Among the dignitaries that attended the one week observance were former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, and former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia accompanied by high-ranking government officials and dignitaries.
