The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has announced the successful completion of a key upgrade by ENI to Ghana’s gas infrastructure, resulting in a significant increase in daily gas supply output from 245 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to 270 MMscfd.

According to the Ministry, the upgrade by ENI marks a crucial milestone in Ghana’s drive towards a reliable and sustainable energy future.

In an official press release issued on Monday, July 14, 2025, the Ministry explained that the enhancement in gas supply is a significant step toward ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy supply for the nation.

“The increased capacity is expected to provide vital support to Ghana’s power generation efforts, contributing to the overall economic growth and industrial development of the country.

The Ministry extends its appreciation to ENI and all stakeholders within the power sector for their dedicated efforts in executing the project,” portions of the statement signed by the Spokesperson and Head of Communication at the Ministry, Richmond Rockson, read.

According to him, the successful completion of the upgrade underscores the importance of such strategic partnerships in achieving energy security and national development.

The statement reiterated the government’s commitment to delivering a consistent and dependable power supply to all Ghanaians.

It also thanked the citizens of Ghana for their patience and cooperation during the upgrade process: “Your support is invaluable as we work together to build a brighter energy future,” the statement added.
