The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has inaugurated the Ministerial Advisory Board of the Ministry of Health, reaffirming government’s commitment to strengthening governance, transparency, and accountability in Ghana’s health sector.

The inauguration ceremony, officiated by Her Ladyship Justice Sedinam Awo Kwadam, Justice of the High Court, brought together key stakeholders and partners in the health sector.

Mr. Akandoh underscored the importance of the Advisory Board as a statutory body mandated under the Civil Service Act to promote collaboration between the Ministry and its stakeholders in advancing health sector development.

He said government, under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, remains dedicated to expanding access to quality and affordable healthcare through flagship initiatives such as the Free Primary Health Care Policy and the Mahama Cares Programme. These programmes, he noted, aim to strengthen specialist services and accelerate progress towards Universal Health Coverage.

The Minister, who also chairs the Board, expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in the members and pledged that the team would provide sound, evidence-based advice to support policy direction.

He called for unity, mutual respect, and a shared sense of purpose among members to drive the “reset agenda” and deliver improved health outcomes for all Ghanaians.
