A philanthropic organisation known as Hikma Foundation has extended a hand of support to the inmates of Saint Joseph’s Orphanage at Jirapa in the Upper West Region of Ghana, by presenting them with assorted used clothing.

This noble act of philanthropy was made possible through the efforts of Mr. Yahaya Brown, a resident of Frankfurt, Germany, who worked tirelessly to source the items from public-spirited individuals.

The items were presented to the orphanage by a senior journalist and Head of the English Language Department of GBC-Radio Upper West, Seidu Ibrahim Bomanjo, on behalf of Hikma Foundation. Mr. Bomanjo conveyed the Foundation’s message of love and support to the inmates, stating that the items were intended to make life a little better for the less fortunate children.

Mr. Bomanjo was excited about the efforts of Mr. Brown and all those who contributed to the donation, saying their kindness will go a long way in meeting the needs of the children at the orphanage. He emphasized that the Hikma Foundation was committed to continuing its support for the orphanage and other vulnerable communities in the Upper West Region.

The Sister in Charge of St. Joseph’s Orphanage, Reverend Sister Lydia Akanpietiba, received the donation with gratitude and doffed her hat to all the benefactors for their kindness. She was particularly grateful to Hikma Foundation and Mr. Yahaya Brown for their selfless act and hoped they will continue to support the orphanage. Rev. Sr. Lydia promised that the items will be used for the benefit of the children.

Reverend Sister Paulina Bagbio and other staff members of the orphanage were also present to receive the donation, praising Hikma Foundation for its generosity and compassion. The orphanage, which provides shelter and care to vulnerable children, is often in need of support, and donations are a welcome relief.

The donation by Hikma Foundation is part of its efforts to support disadvantaged communities in Ghana, particularly in the Upper West Region. The Foundation’s commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of the less fortunate is heart-warming, and its partnership with individuals like Mr. Yahaya Brown is a testament to the power of collective kindness.

The presentation ceremony was short and simple, but it was an extremely exciting event, with the children at the orphanage visibly moved by the generosity of Hikma Foundation. They therefore sang a song titled “Welcome” in appreciation of the gesture.

As Hikma Foundation continues its humanitarian efforts, it is hoped that more individuals and organisations will join hands to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and communities.
