The Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng is being impeached nearly three years after President Nana Akufo-Addo appointed him to replace the former prosecutor, Martin Amidu who actually filed the petition to the President for Agyebeng to be impeached.

The Special Prosecutor in a press conference on the matter asked if he should feel frustrated and resign from office following that, some government officials are of the view that he is not performing his functions well.

Taking it back, the Special Prosecutor is to face impeachment because, his predecessor, Martin Amidu filed a petition to the President asking for Agyebeng to be impeached because he (Agyebeng) is not performing his duties well.

Amidu stated in his petition that Agyebeng attacked the Judiciary by stating in a press conference that, the judiciary does not support his work as a prosecutor.

According to Agyebeng, the judiciary has been striking out some of the corruption cases he presents against public officials. The case the Special Prosecutor has been handling has to do with the former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Dapaah who complained about missing currencies in her bedroom stolen by her house-helps.

Agyebeng and his outfit after investigating the case cleared Cecilia Dapaah of corruption allegations stating they found no evidence of corruption against her making some government officials accuse him of failing his duties. It is for this reason that the Special Prosecutor in a press conference asked, “Should I feel frustrated and resign? I took an oath when I was sworn in. When I take on the reigns to do something, I do it to the best of my ability…”.
