The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has issued a second and final notice to owners and operators of temporary structures and garages situated around the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to remove all unauthorised installations by Wednesday, February 5, 2026.

In a public announcement, the Assembly directed that all makeshift structures, including wooden and metallic kiosks, containers, sheds, and informal garages within and around the stadium enclave, must be voluntarily dismantled and cleared within the stipulated period.

According to KMA management, the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to enhance public safety, improve sanitation, ensure free movement, and restore order and aesthetic value to key public spaces in the Kumasi Metropolis.

To enforce the directive, the Works Department of the Assembly has been tasked to serve eviction notices on all affected structures. Owners and operators have therefore been urged to take immediate steps to remove their properties to avoid enforcement action.

The Assembly cautioned that failure to comply with the directive by the deadline will result in the forced removal of the structures by the KMA, stressing that it will not be held liable for any loss or damage that may arise during the exercise.

Management further emphasised that no extensions will be granted, urging all affected persons to cooperate fully to prevent inconvenience and disruption.

The Baba Yara Sports Stadium and its surroundings are considered critical public spaces, and the KMA says restoring order in the area remains a priority to support safety, accessibility, and the overall development of the metropolis.
