A fire broke out on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at three shops on the ground floor of a one-storey building at Madina Zongo Junction in Accra, the Ghana National Fire Service has said.
Firefighters from the Madina and Legon stations arrived swiftly after the distress call was received at 16:41 GMT. The blaze was brought under control by 17:00 and fully extinguished by 17:25.
One shop and its contents were completely destroyed, while two others were partially affected. No casualties were reported.
The Fire Service said the rapid response prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining buildings, including a nearby forex bureau. The cause of the fire is under investigation..
