President Mahama to establish 50 Farmer Service Centres with more than 4,000 machinery to boost agriculture

President John Dramani Mahama has announced plans to establish Farmer Service Centres across 50 agricultural districts to enhance productivity and support farmers with modern equipment.

Each centre will be equipped with over 4,000 pieces of agricultural machinery, including tractors, trailers, mini tractors, and a wide range of attachments and implements to support various farming activities.

The facilities will also feature heavy-duty equipment such as ploughs, harrows, fertiliser spreaders, precision seed drills, boom sprayers, and combine harvesters with specialised maize and soy headers.

The initiative is aimed at improving access to mechanised farming services, reducing labour constraints, and boosting agricultural output nationwide.

President Mahama recently cut sod for the commencement of the project at the Afram Plains, with the centres expected to significantly transform farming operations when completed.

50 maize headers for combine harvesters
25 soy headers for combine harvesters
