Ghana’s mobile money services saw a significant boost in April 2025, with the total value of transactions reaching a record GHC 365.0 billion. This is the highest monthly figure recorded so far this year, according to new data from the Bank of Ghana (BoG).
The amount represents a 3.8% increase compared to GHC 351.7 billion in March 2025, indicating that more people are using mobile money for both personal and business activities.
Along with the rise in value, the number of transactions also grew. In April, there were 778 million transactions, up from 764 million in March.
This growth highlights the increasing importance of mobile money in providing Ghanaians with access to financial services.
