The Police Hospital has notified the public of its decision to conduct mass burial for 200 unidentified and unclaimed bodies.

This will begin by the close of work this week. A statement by the Police Hospital explained that the move is aimed at clearing out the mortuary.

The bodies, which have accumulated for the past six months, include victims of hit-and-run accidents and people who have died on the streets. There are also unidentified victims of crime and some who died on admission to hospital, but were abandoned by their families.

The Police hospital has therefore urged the public to contact its Pathology Department this week to help identify the bodies.
