The Central East Regional Police Command has conducted a series of intelligence-led operations targeting criminal activity in the lead-up to the festive season.

The swoops, which took place in Kasoa Old Market, Awutu Breku, Gomoa Buduata, Senya Breku and surrounding areas on the early mornings of 16 and 17 December 2025, resulted in multiple arrests and seizures.

According to a statement signed by DSP Victor Kofi Dosoo, Head of Public Affairs for the Central East Region, 33 suspects were apprehended during the operations.

Some were found in possession of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and Tramadol. Police also impounded 45 motorbikes and recovered a toy gun. Verification of the seized items and ongoing screening of the suspects is underway, and those found culpable will be prosecuted.

The police urged members of the public to take precautions during the festive period, including avoiding carrying large sums of money, moving in groups especially at night, complying with helmet laws, avoiding drunk driving, and steering clear of secluded areas.

The Central East Regional Police Command praised local stakeholders for their cooperation in maintaining law and order throughout the year and commended officers for their dedication to policing. DSP Dosoo reiterated the force’s preparedness to ensure a crime-free festive period and warned that anyone found committing offences would face the full rigours of the law.
