The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has held discussions with a delegation from the World Bank aimed at strengthening Ghana’s tourism, culture and creative arts sector.

During the engagement, the Minister expressed appreciation for the World Bank’s continued support, while outlining key challenges confronting the sector. She drew attention to infrastructure concerns at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, stressing the need to protect Ghana’s image and enhance tourism facilities to meet international standards.

The Minister noted that addressing infrastructure gaps is critical to improving visitor experience and sustaining growth in the tourism and creative arts industry.

The World Bank delegation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ghana’s tourism sector, highlighting its increasing importance in job creation and youth empowerment across Africa. The team also shared insights from an ongoing global tourism study, which is expected to help countries, including Ghana, improve competitiveness and strengthen long-term planning.

Both parties pledged to deepen collaboration to strengthen infrastructure, build sector resilience and unlock the full economic potential of tourism, culture and the creative arts in Ghana.
