Two farms in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality have been affected by the Swine flu.

Sources at the Municipal Veterinary Department told GBC NEWS that tests conducted on samples from the farms tested positive.

Earlier, about two hundred pigs reportedly died in the Municipality and this has since been attributed to the Swine flu.

Following the outbreak, the Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Chief Executive, Solomon Appiah, has directed that only sheep and goats should be sent to the abattoir.

He advised managers of the various pig farms to take their safety protocols seriously to prevent spread of the diseases.
