Deputy National Imam, Ahlussuna Wal Jama, Sheik Mohammed Kamil Mohammed, has added his voice to calls for parliament to vote in favour of the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, which seeks to prevent the practice of homosexuality practice in Ghana.
He said Islam abhors the practice which can destroy future of the country. The Bill has been laid in parliament for a second debate.
Sheikh Mohammed, said this when he led this year’s Eid-Ul-Adha, prayers by the Ahlussuna Wal Jama, which was held at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra.
In an attendance was Former President John Dramani Mahama and members from all walks of lives including children.

Sheik Mohammed said, they would be closely monitoring proceedings in the House to know stance of MPs on the matter.
He said those who vote against the Bill would be campaigned against in their bid to seek re-election in next year’s general election.
“We are going to be monitoring them to see those who will vote to pass the bill. We will be monitoring them so that those who vote against it when they are going to seek vote from people, we too we will go back and tell the people they shouldn’t be voted, because they want this bad thing to be in Ghana and Allah forbids that one”.
He said it is wrong for the practice to backed under the pretext of championing human rights. “Why are they arresting armed robbers, if it’s their right to do what they want? Why are they arresting thieves? If that’s it then we should allow everybody to practice his right”.

Sheikh Mohammed, expressed appreciation to God for seeing them through another celebration. He said they have received relevant sensitization on precautionary measures to follow in the selection of animals for sacrifices following the confirmation of Anthrax in the country.
“We have had so many meetings with the veterinary and the Minister of Agric and they have given us instructions to follow. Before the slaughtering of animals, they should check if there’s no bleeding or whatsoever. And after the slaughter, they should check the meat as well”.

Former President John Dramani Mahama encouraged Muslims to be moderate in their celebrations in order to remain safe.
