The Director-General of the World Health Organization, WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has spoken out as tensions continue to unfold across the Middle East.
In a social media post, he said he is deeply troubled by the situation and expressed heartfelt concern for the civilians caught in the crossfire; families, children, and communities facing uncertainty and fear.
He reminded the world that regardless of borders, politics, or differences, every human being deserves to live without the threat of violence.
In his message, he urged leaders to choose the harder but braver path, dialogue over destruction and called for wisdom to prevail over weapons.
“Peace is the best medicine” he said.
