The Headless YouTuber, known for his unique blend of humor, anonymity, and hard-hitting content, has been named Creator of the Year at the 2025 Creators Awards Ghana. This prestigious recognition comes after a year of dedication and hard work that saw him grow his brand, introduce new shows, and engage his audience on a deeper level.
Reflecting on the achievement, the Headless YouTuber spoke about the effort that went into building his brand and how the award validates his journey.
“I’ve put in a lot of work from my Face Reveal in January till now, introducing shows like Crime De La Crime; a Ghanaian True Crime Podcast, a new interview channel; Talk to Kula which trends with each episode, growing the Headless YouTuber Brand to the max. This award just shows my hard work has been seen, felt and acknowledged.”he said
The Headless YouTuber also explained the inspiration behind his decision to create the anonymous persona, which allowed him to reinvent himself and move beyond his previous career as a musician. According to him, the anonymity was key to helping him focus on content quality and presentation rather than relying on external factors like appearance.
“The need to start something new, away from my previous brand as an award-winning musician inspired the creation of the Headless YouTuber persona which thrived on anonymity. This made me put more effort into my presentation & work ethic and not rely on looks or charisma in the start of my creator journey.”he shared
However, the journey wasn’t without its difficulties. One of the biggest challenges he faced was transitioning from being an anonymous figure to revealing his face on camera. Many of his loyal followers were initially resistant to this change. But with consistency and time, he won them over.
“The biggest challenge I’ve faced so far was transitioning from anonymous to creating content with my face. Most of the subscribers were used to the previous persona and really kicked back. However, with consistency and constant improvement, they’ve come to love the new Headless.”He admitted
When it comes to the ethics and values that define his content, the Headless YouTuber emphasized his commitment to neutrality, audience engagement, and balancing humor with serious topics.
“Some basic ethics and standards I add to make my content unique are: 1. Being neutral: I present the news how it is without personal sentiments, emotions or opinions. This makes the audience appreciate the content without feeling I’m biased. 2. I put my audience first. The audience is my topmost priority. I accept and appreciate feedback, constantly work on improving the viewer experience and making every piece of content memorable. 3. Mixing humor with facts. Even though my content is humorous, the seriousness is still felt because I don’t overdo things.”he outlined
Looking to the future, he expressed his deep gratitude to his fans, who he fondly calls “Kɔtɔ Nation,” drawing inspiration from the symbolism of a crab, which represents his anonymous persona. He promised them that even greater shows and content would be coming soon.
“My appreciation goes to my fans. We are Kɔtɔ Nation because the crab (kɔtɔ) has no head. Kɔtɔ Nation should watch out for greater shows being introduced and I’ll never let you down. Keep enjoying the content and always tell somebody about Headless. Yayɛ dien? YAPON!!, he concluded
