The Daily Graphic welcomes the move by government to disburse funds accruing from donations to victims of the June 3 disaster, although it believes this is long overdue. As Ghana marks the fourth anniversary of the twin disaster that claimed more than 150 lives, the paper calls on the authorities to speed up the process to ensure the victims receive their money which will serve as some form of justice for the misfortune. It says as the rains persist, citizens must endeavour to avoid disposing plastic waste into drains indiscriminately as they are the major causes of these disasters.

The Ghanaian Times calls on people living in communities selected for the trial census to fully support the exercise in order to ensure its success. The paper believes the trial census would ensure that the Ghana Statistical Service adequately prepares for the National Population and Housing census next year. The Times is hopeful that government will provide adequate resources to enable the Statistical Service undertake the trial census to meet International standards set by the United Nations Statistical Division.
