2021 Population and Housing Census to cost GH¢500m — VEEP Bawumia

This Year’s Population and Housing Census will cost the tax payer 500 million Ghana Cedis  (GH¢500m)

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia who made this known said the Census is key to propelling development of Ghana.  

The 2021 Census was initially scheduled to be conducted in 2020 but had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The 2021 Population and Housing Census (PHC), which begins on the night of Sunday 27th June, will be the first fully digital census, with the use of tablets for data capture instead of traditional paper questionnaires.

It will also use Geographic Positioning System (GPS) to capture the location of all structures, and employ interactive area maps for accurate identification of enumeration and the provision areas.
