ECOWAS Commissioner on Micro Economic Policy, Konadu Apraku, says countries within the West African Sub-region must meet a convergence criteria for them to adopt the ECO Currency.
Dr Apraku indicated that all members of the West African Countries are optimistic about the ECO Currency. Dr Apraku, added that the single currency would make ECOWAS members have a common front which would enable a positive effect on the economy of respective member states.
He noted that, “When we put all our resources together at one monitory union that will guarantee the countries that are stronger to support the weaker ones.”
