Ghana has returned to a path of economic stability and growth, Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson told Parliament on Thursday as he presented the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy.
“We have restored fiscal discipline, brought inflation under control, stabilized the cedi, and rekindled investor confidence. Ghana is back, strong, stable, and full of hope,” Dr. Forson said.
The Finance Minister streseed that responsible economic management is the foundation of national progress.
“There is no shortcut for responsible economic management. Never again must we allow recklessness, waste, and indiscipline to define how we handle the people’s money,” he said.
Dr. Forson described the current recovery not merely as a rebound but as a reset, a revival from the heavy economic burden inherited from the previous administration. He added that the nation’s renewed vigor is reflected even on the sports field, noting that the Black Stars are heading to the World Cup.
“This is a story of a nation that refuses to stay down,” he said.
