Government rolls out GH₵600 million soft loan scheme to assist SMEs

President Akufo-Addo has assured all Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) that government has put in place a GH₵600 million soft loan scheme with a two-year repayment plan.

Persons who access these loans will have a one year grace period before beginning repayment.

President Akufo-Addo said the scheme, is in collaboration with the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI), business and trade associations and selected commercial and rural banks.

He said as part of measures, he had also directed the Finance Minister to send to Parliament the Coronavirus Alleviation Programme (CAP), aimed at protecting households and livelihoods.

President Akufo-Addo said this when he addressed the nation on Sunday (April 5) on measures being put in place to mitigate the effects of the Coronavirus on Ghanaians and the economy.
