GRA to lock up offices of more tax defaulters

The Debt Management and Compliance Enforcement Unit of the Ghana Revenue Authority, GRA, Tuesday morning nearly locked up the Spintex road branch of GLO Ghana for tax default of ten million Ghana cedis.
All activities within the facility came to a halt as workers were directed by officers to vacate the facility immediately.

The move is in response to the execution of distress warrants on some defaulting taxpayers in Accra.
The Commissioner General of the Authority, Emmanuel Kofi Nti last week stated emphatically that the GRA will not rest till it ensures that revenue due the state is collected accordingly for national development.
Addressing the media after meeting with authorities of the facility, Assistant Commissioner, Communication and Public Affairs, Kwasi Bobie Ansah said the company has issued a cheque for two (2) million cedis as part payment of the debt.
He said it has been directed to immediately get to the offices of the GRA to make arrangements towards the payment of the remaining amount.
