A lecturer at the University of Media, Arts and Communication, Institute of Journalism (UniMAC-IJ), Madam Eva Kuupuolo, has raised concerns about the whereabouts of some students during the school vacation, stating that many are on break but only a few return home.
In a recent video posted on her TikTok page, she advised parents to check up on their children, noting that not all students go home during vacations.
She explained that although universities are currently on break, some students remain elsewhere without informing their families.
“Parents, if your child is in the university, you need to ask them if they are on vacation, how many weeks the semester is, just to be sure. Because guess what—some university students are on vacation but they are not home,” she said.
According to her, some students are cohabiting with their partners, often without their families’ knowledge.
The lecturer, who is well-known for creating educational content on social media, stressed the importance of parental involvement. She encouraged parents to ask their children questions and stay informed about their activities during school breaks.
She also cited research indicating a growing number of university students are living with their romantic partners.
Madam Kuupuolo has gained recognition for guiding students through university life. On her social media platforms, she shares advice on academic success, personal development, and building a purposeful life after graduation. She has also been featured on several TV stations and other platforms to speak on student-related issues.
Her latest message serves as a reminder for parents to remain engaged and connected with their children, even during holidays.
