FIFA has officially launched the branding of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 in Rio de Janeiro. This marks a major milestone ahead of South America’s first hosting of the global women’s football showpiece.
The unveiling ceremony was held in Copacabana. It introduced the tournament’s emblem, slogan and sonic identity, and set the tone for what FIFA describes as a celebration of women’s football rooted in Brazilian culture, music and creativity.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the launch reflects Brazil’s passion for football and its ambition to deliver a landmark tournament for the women’s game.
The newly revealed emblem draws inspiration from the Brazilian flag and the layout of a football pitch. It blends symbolic elements that represent movement, unity and mastery. The official slogan, “Go Epic,” is aimed at rallying fans worldwide to be part of what organizers hope will be a defining moment in women’s football history.
FIFA also introduced a custom sonic identity built around Brazilian rhythms, including samba-inspired percussion and Afro-Brazilian musical influences. The sound branding will feature across broadcast platforms, digital content and in-stadium experiences during the tournament build-up.
Football legends from both the men’s and women’s game attended the launch. This reflects the significance of the event for the global football community. Brazil great Marta, in a recorded message, described the tournament as an opportunity to inspire future generations and strengthen the country’s connection to the sport.
As part of the celebrations, sections of Copacabana’s famous Avenida Atlântica were transformed through a street art festival. This continues Brazil’s tradition of decorating public spaces to mark major football events.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 will be the first edition of the tournament hosted in South America. FIFA is expected to release further details on host cities, match schedules and ticketing in the coming months.
