The Minister of Health, Mr Kwabena Mintah Akondoh, has formally introduced two key additions to the Ministry’s leadership team. They are Mr. Desmond Boateng who takes over as the new Chief Director, and Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah as Deputy Minister of Health. The announcement was made during a special staff durbar held at the Ministry.
The Minister emphasized the importance of building personal connections with staff and expressed his commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment. “Our mission is to learn to know your names and even your faces,” he stated.
He introduced Mr. Boateng as a seasoned civil servant with extensive experience, having previously served as Chief Director at the Ministry of Railways and as Director of PPME at the Ministry of Communications.

Mr. Boateng thanked the Minister for the opportunity to serve and affirmed his dedication to teamwork, discipline, and punctuality. “This is a family,” he noted, urging staff to foster collegial relationships and work together towards achieving the Ministry’s mandate. “It is going to be hard work, hard work, hard work,” he emphasized.
Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, the Deputy Minister of Health, pledged her full support to the Minister and staff.
“I’m here to support my Minister so that we can realize President John Dramani Mahama’s vision of resetting Ghana, and more importantly, resetting the health industry from top to bottom,” she said.
She assured staff of her availability and willingness to contribute at all levels.
