Urgent action needed to reduce patient harm in health institutions – Stakeholders

Stakeholders at the 2019 National Patient Safety and Health Care Quality Conference, have called for urgent action to reduce patient harm, at health institutions across the country.

The call comes following reports, that one out of every ten patients, is harmed while receiving hospital care.

The Stakeholders are of the view that a patient getting harmed, while receiving treatment  does not augur well for the health sector.

This years Conference is focusing on making available Wash Sanitation and Hygiene, and infection prevention in  health facilities.

Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Madam Cecilia Dapaah.

The Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Dapaah who is one of the focal persons, said there is the need to mainstream wash services and hygiene, into delivering quality health care.
