Five people have sustained various degrees of injuries after a KIA truck ran into a taxi, injuring five people in the process.
Some eyewitnesses reported the KIA truck had a brake failure and crashed into a taxi in front of the GT Bank branch at Kotokuraba in Cape Coast.

The incident occurred when the truck, which was loaded with bags of rice, lost control and dragged a Toyota taxi with registration number GW 5934-14 into a gutter.
According to information gathered at the scene, the truck had two occupants, the driver and another passenger, whilst the taxi was carrying three people, including the driver.
All five individuals involved in the accident sustained injuries and were rushed to the Ewim polyclinic, and those who suffered severe injuries were sent to the Cape Coast Teaching hospital for treatment.

Eyewitnesses said the victims were transported to the hospital by passers-by and people in the area shortly after the accident occurred.
They added that the truck appeared to have suffered a brake failure before crashing into the taxi. No deaths have been recorded so far, but eyewitnesses have been providing further details to authorities as investigations into the incident continue.
