The Electoral Commission (EC) says its attention has been drawn to a video circulating on social media indicating that the Chairperson of the EC has announced John Mahama as Ghana’s President-elect.
The Commission in a release said the video is doctored and is not a true reflection of what was declared.
The EC reiterates that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is the President-elect of the 2020 Presidential election, having obtained more than fifty percent of the valid votes cast as enshrined in Article 63 (3) of the 1992 constitution says the declaration has subsequently been gazette by the Ghana Publishing Company.
The EC entreats the public to disregard the video as it is false.
