The Ashanti Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Benjamin Bannor Bio has denied media reports that the Commission’s District office at Afigya Kwabre South has been burgled, with some vital documents and gadgets stolen.
Speaking to Radio Ghana in Kumasi, Mr. Banor Bio explained that the District Assembly offered two rooms at the District’s ICT Centre at Kodie to the EC as offices.
He said in the early hours of Wednesday, the 10th of this month, thieves broke into the main District ICT and made away with valuable items including a flat screen television.
The thieves also entered the Commission’s office and made away with the secretary’s laptop computer and a step down transformer.
However documents and other official facilities belonging to the EC were not stolen nor tampered with as being speculated.
