Ghana is exploring new opportunities for collaboration with Belarus, particularly in the agricultural sector. This follows bilateral discussions between Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and His Excellency Maxim Ryzhenkov on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Mr. Ryzhenkov admitted that ties between the two countries are not yet well developed but stressed the potential for mutually beneficial cooperation. He recalled a visit by former President John Dramani Mahama to Belarus before his election and extended an invitation to Mr Ablakwa to visit as well.

Highlighting agriculture as a key entry point, Mr. Ryzhenkov noted that Belarus could support Ghana with advanced farming equipment, technical services, and training in modern technologies to enhance productivity.

Mr Ablakwa welcomed the proposal, commending Belarus’ expertise in mechanisation and affirming that Ghana is open to partnerships that can unlock efficiency and growth in agriculture.
