President of the “John Mahama Ladies” group in the Upper East Region, Gifty Nyaaba, has appealed to Ghanaians to remain hopeful about the direction of the current administration, insisting that the government is taking steps to improve economic conditions and the welfare of citizens.
According to her, recent economic developments, including the appreciation of the Ghanaian cedi, reductions in fuel prices, and the declining cost of some food items, are early signs that the government is on course to stabilize the economy and improve living standards across the country.
Speaking to GBCNews during a visit by the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, to Bolgatanga, Gifty Nyaaba said it was too early for residents to lose confidence in the government’s efforts. She noted that job creation remains one of the major priorities of the John Mahama administration and expressed optimism that more opportunities would soon be created for the youth and unemployed across the country.
Miss Nyaaba, however, urged the government to pay critical attention to road infrastructure in the Upper East Region, stressing that poor roads continue to affect transportation, trade, and economic activities in many communities.
She also called on authorities to commence the construction of the proposed Bolgatanga Airport, describing it as a major project that could open up the region for business, tourism, and investment while improving transportation and connectivity in northern Ghana.
The visit by Mr. Asiedu Nketia brought together party supporters and residents who interacted with the NDC leadership on national and regional development issues
