MMDAs urged to play their roles

President Akufo Addo says the Short and Long term development goals of his government cannot yield positive results until the MMDAs play their roles effectively.
In a statement read on his behalf at a ceremony to inaugurate the Ayawaso Central Municipal Assembly in Accra, President Akufo-Addo said the creation of the Municipal Assembly is to bring development and job creation to the doorstep of the people.
The Ayawaso Central Municipal Assembly is bounded in the north by Ayawaso west, Ayawaso East, Okaikoi South and Osu Klottey in the south of Accra. The Assembly also covers Communities including Mamobi East, Nima West and Kanda.
Due to population growth and government’s quest to decentralised local government structures, create jobs and bring development to the doorstep of the people has elevated some existing sub Metropolitan Assemblies to Municipal status.
In a ceremony to inaugurate the Ayawaso Central Municipal Assembly, President Akufo Addo’s statement which was read by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Ishmael Ashitey called for support to enable the Assembly to function effectively.
