Government mourns former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings

The Government of Ghana has announced with deep regret the untimely passing of Her Excellency Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, former First Lady and founder of the 31st December Women’s Movement.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Government Communications, Mrs. Rawlings passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, after a short illness.

The statement, issued and signed by the Minister of Government Communications and Spokesperson to the President, John Dramani Mahama, Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, extended the government’s deepest condolences to her immediate family.

“Government extends its deepest condolences to her immediate family,” a portion of the statement said.
